Todayâs challenge worked out well for the card I needed to make for my boss. Itâs a big deal to get promoted to Chief Claims Officer, so everyone wants to sign her card. Thatâs why I had to make two. Itâs also a new and exciting adventure, so I found a good quote for my FTHS sailboat digi on Pinterest and made a âCongratulations on your new adventureâ card. This is a tough image to color. So much sky and water. Water is tough for me to color, but I just masked off the boat and sponged the sky with Distress inks. I had trouble deciding if the sun was setting behind clouds or trees. I made them clouds last time I colored this image, so I went with trees this time. Then I added some white highlights with my white gel pen. Finished off with some fluffy white clouds and some wavy water for kicks. Actually, because I just bought this wave die on my craft supply shopping trip in MN with Polly (peeps321) and I was dying to use it!

Yup, I hate colouring big skies - that's why I usually go for masking and sponging even though one has to be careful with the mask. It's such a tranquil, peaceful scene and a great sentiment. There are sure to be a few rocky patches settling into a new position. This reminds me of our summer holiday in one of the seaside towns in Cornwall some years ago.

Great way to break in your new wave die..ha! This is wonderful...amazing sponging...And I like the trees, they're a nice contrast between the water and the sky. Your chief is going to appreciate this for sure!! Fantastic card Jen!
