This card was made for a Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch challenge that had the optional challenge of including leaves.
The card base is Stampin' Up! (SU) Cajun Craze cardstock. The white layer is SU Whisper White cardstock that I ran through my big shot with a Fiskar leaves texture plate a a thin sheet of rubber. It was wraped three times with jute string, then mounted to the card front using kid's fun foam cut just a little smaller than the white panel, then glued to the card front.
Under the white panel I had glued three die-cut leaves using the SU "Seasonal Layers" dies.
The Thanksgiving sentiment is from a retired 2002 SU stamp set called "Turkey Talk". It was stamped onto a piece of SU Crumb Cake using SU Cajun Craze ink, then matted with SU Old Olive cardstock. This was then adhered to the white panel using adhesive foam strips with another leaf tucked under for added interest.
The hardest part was getting a good impression of leaves on the white cardstock. The plates were made in 2003, so they are a bit thicker than manufactured today. I had to experiment with different "sandwiches" on my Big Shot to get deep impressions. I am rating the difficulty on this card as a "3" out of a possible "5" just because of all the papers and tools needed to create it. It isn't really technically difficult - just required a greater amount of "stuff" than I typically use on a card. It will make a good card to send this fall to family in another state.
