I decided it was a good opportunity to use up this background which I had made last year for one of Polly's MIX challenges: MIX301 Texting.
DragonflyLaser poppy stamped on watercolour paper, coloured with Inktense pencils. I used Judikins Microglaze on the poppy and buds, then stamped a Hero Arts script stamp in faded jeans archival. Edges sponged with Broken China, layered onto gold and black card.
Gold base, next layer is the leftover from of Polly's MIX challenge - all sorts of text papers collaged together. It was still slightly tacky in places even a year later (I think I'd used mono multi), so I burnished fine glitter on after stencilling (Sweet Dixie Fern Flourish and peeled paint distress. Added some lace and popped the poppy panel up on foam, adding a butterfly. TCP sentiment and SU Modern Label punch.

What a beauty! I'm amazed that you still had that leftover MIX bg...it looks amazing with your tweaks...the gold embossing, the lace, and that stenciling...WOW!

Gorgeous poppy and text background, Sabrina. I never thought to use microglaze as a kind of mask but it worked beautifully to resist the text print off the poppy!

This is oh-so pretty Sabrina. I adore this poppy image and all the colors/texture in the background. The bit of lace adds to the classic vintage feel of this beautiful card. ~Karen.
