We're on vacation and my son dropped some hard news on us a couple of days ago. I am struggling to process and cope and it was a blessing to bring my grandson over to the 2nd condo unit and do some art tonight. I am also really missing being able to call my mom who died a few years ago so when I saw the pin from our inspiration site with poppies against the music bg I knew I wanted to go that direction. I have limited supplies along, but picked up a freebie fallen apart hymnal from a thrift store the other day. I picked one about how Jesus cares for me and started by sponging on the bg colors in distress inks with a blending tool. I also used a stencil and the same sponging to add my word. I had a sheet of cardstock that I had pulled apart for a previous project and I drew my poppies petals and stems in Gelatos and rubbed those in. I shaped and crumpled the petals and added some icy white Gelato highlights. I took the backside of the paper and rubbed on Black for the centers. I fussy cut these and used glue dots and glue to adhere them.

I am impressed with what you can do with limited supplies! This is a precious journal page. It is a great result from your inspiration. It is the same one I was eyeing. Sending hugs.

How wonderful you have that hymnal page to go with your gorgeous poppies. Life can be so hard, at times. But HE does care for you. Wishing you better days ahead.
