What an interesting Pinterest Board Brenda shared with us for the Inspiration Challenge today! I have done needlework in the past - but have never heard of these wonderful Needle Minders!
I enjoyed looking through Brenda's Board and was finally inspired by this sweet house scene Needle Minder.
I made mine a beach house!
I embossed a 2.5" ATC made of MDF. from That's Crafty. I embossed it by laying it on a craft mat on an electric pan heated to 300* (no longer used for food!) I saw the technique YouTube. I first melted a coat of clear UTEE over the coin and then I added some Golden Rod, White Wonder and Aqua Splash Molten Dimensions. When they were all melted I swirled through the colors with a needle.
I die cut the little house and made it a beach house by sponging it with Bay Color Box Blends 2 ink. Then I drew lines across it with a gray Copic. I put a piece of yellow paper behind the windows and added shadow along 2 sides of each window with a yellow Copic. I adhered the house to the coin with Tombow glue, added the yellow enamel star and a few tiny seashells I've had in my stash from trips to Sanibel Island! I then added the Small Talk sticker.

Oh, this is fabulous. I love you made a circle with such an awesome design. Before I started making cards, I would have never thought of using an electric pan in the card making craft. Ha Love the ocean water...and every inch of this wonderful ATC.

Ohh - I love the looks of that background! It's a super setting for your little beach paradise - My first attempts at embossing used either an electric fry pan (the easiest way) or bottom of an iron if you didn't have a pan. SO back in the dark ages before some one invented a heat gun!

Ha, I remember when I used to hunt at yard sales for an old electric pan to use as a melting pot and every one I bought was a dud. ( I probably should have caved and bought a melting pot lol) this is so cool Julia, love the textures.
