A friend of my mom's & mine has a birthday next week, so I decided to make her this card. She loves tea, and the teacup from "Tea-rrific" was the perfect size to go on the slider.
I created the card following the instructions in the T-slide card tutorial here on Splitcoast. I used a piece of pink patterned paper from "Birthday Bash" for the front panel, & Caribbean Breeze cardstock for the back panel. I followed the alternative measurements in the tutorial to make an A2 card.
I stamped the teacup onto a piece of mixed media paper with Versamark, & white heat embossed it. I then stamped the Happy Birthday greeting in the middle, and heat embossed that as well. I inked the whole cup with Tumbled Glass, then added Broken China around the edges for shading. I fussy cut the image, first using a craft knife to cut out the bit inside the handle, then scissors for the perimeter. I had gotten the greeting a hair off-center, so I added swirls on the cup with a white Gelly Roll pen to camouflage that. I adhered the cup in place on the slider, making sure to apply adhesive only where the cup was contacting the lower panel of the slider.
I stamped the "inside" sentiment on a strip of white cardstock with Rose Gold Shimmer ink. After that dried, I finished the slider mechanism. I added a tab I'd die cut to the end of the pull strip, and stamped "pull" & an arrow from "Interactive Labels" in Rose Gold. And that finished this card. I ended up with just over 3 minutes to spare of my hour time limit for the VSN challenge--whew!
