I was stumped on this one for a while. Depending on which list you consult, my birthstone is either a rose zircon or opal. I always choose to go with opal because I think they are so pretty with their multi colors. I honestly googled "things you see at a rock concert" because nothing was coming to mind. I came across a photo of lights from the stage shining out like sun rays and was inspired to make this multi colored sun ray card.
I cut the sunburst to use as a stencil. Because of the time limit, I didn't want to mask out each ray so that it could neatly be half each color, so tried to sponge each color in each ray carefully. My daughters thought the masking would be too neat and that this gives the essence of an opal better anyway.
After sponging all of the rays, I sprayed the panel with glitter spray for all over shine that, unfortunately, doesn't show up very well in the photo. Trust me, it is glitter filled! (Edit: I uploaded another photo which shows the glitter much better.)
I sponged the same four colors directly on the stamp and then stamped it down, then added birthday in the black. The balloon is popped up with foam tape and baker's twine serves as the string.
Thanks for the challenge, Kim!
