For Dina's Stars and Stripes MIXed media challenge. I used DOX inks, sparkle paste and gilding wax.
Started with a wrinkle free distress background using Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky and Mermaid Lagoon DOX inks. I used the remainders to make an extra piece which I ended up using for the sentiment.
I used sparkle paste to stencil the stars over it. When dry, I trimmed down and edged it with gold embossing, also adding a sprinkle of chunky EP in Aged Teal. I added some starry washi tape and a twine bow.
My striped star was cut from one of my tomato puree tubes, embossed, sanded and then I buffed the sanded areas with gilding wax. I edged it with a black pen to add a little definition, an dpopped it up on foam. The sentiment was stamped on my spare scrap of WFD, embossed with gold and cut because none of my dies or punches was just the right size.

Wow, Sabrina!!! This is gorgeous! That star is amazing! I love the gilded edges! I know you are missing the beautiful starry nights you were enjoying out camping.

Sabrina, I love all that gold. I too felt so moved to use lots of gold for this star challenge today too. A very nicely designed card.

I spotted this on the main page and knew it was yours....it's so pretty. Your WFD bg is lovely in those colors and the sparkling star are subtle but so effective! The gold embossed edging (one of your trademarks) adds the perfect contrast to the blue of the sky.

What a beautiful array of stars, my friend!!! I am with MariLynn and the tomato puree comment...must purpose to make more tomato puree stuff! I love the repeated stars and your main bg is gorgeous! I can see the fun you had with this one. Enjoy your day off...more art with a tiny blend of housekeeping thrown in...that's my motto.

What a great looking birthday card, Sabrina! Love all the gold on your card today! Unfortunately, I have been busy trying to clean out my husband’s office today. There is no AC in there as I turned it off ages ago so it has been a long afternoon, and still not done....
