This card is for the VSN challenge hosted by Jeanette aka Forest Ranger it is perhaps a colour challenge and definitely a challenge to make a thank you card, any sort of thank you card and is in keeping with the overall theme of the VSN âeoeRock Starâe
I really like using stencils and foil at the moment, it's quick (if you don't count the 30 or 40 minutes it takes to cure the glue) so while this was happening I stamped and heat embossed the large thanks. Once this was done, I cut out the thank you die three times and sandwiched them together just to give it a bit of depth.
The glue was ready in twenty minutes, so I laid the foil on then ran my brayer over this and carefully lifted it off checking to make sure the foil had transferred. I find that using the brayer always gives you a good transfer.
Next step was to put the card together including the heat embossed thanks. Once all of this was done I glued the thank you die sandwich onto the thanks embossing and painted stickles over it making the âeoeThank Youâe look a bit like opal and that's it.
VSN is a challenge run three or four times a year and is held over two days Friday and Saturday USA ET or Saturday and Sunday EST Australia, with often a mini VSN a few weeks' earlier just so you can get into the swing of things. You have an hour to make each card with a challenge going up every hour.
I love to try and do my challenges live but sometimes life gets in the way and so everyone just must have their cards uploaded within a week of the challenge. It is an honour system that you only take an hour to make your card and that is part of the challenge, it is amazing how it hones your creativity.
Anyone can join in the fun and this VSN is from 5th and 6th July or 6th and 7th if you're in Australia with final uploads on the 15th July. We have many of our SCS members provide inspiration for an amazing weekend.
