This card is for the VSN challenge hosted by Chris aka Chrissyd723 it is an inspiration challenge and is in keeping with the overall theme of the VSN âeoeRock Starâe
I have pretty much literally followed the inspiration photo but sadly the shot of my card doesn't show the vibrance of the colours, through the centre of the card it is a vibrant cereus pink.
For the background I have used a technique Sussie Australia talked about over on Teapot Tuesday this week. It is messy but fast and you end up with to backgrounds.
Basically, what I did was cut two pieces of gloss card stock then drenched one of the cards with Alcohol Blending solution then dropped alcohol ink onto the card. I slapped the second piece of card down on top of the first and squished it about a bit then lifted it off, I added a bit more blending solution and a bit more ink until I was happy with the result. It dries quickly but I helped it along with my heat it tool. Using a homemade stencil for the Bokeh background. I sponged on a mixture of Brilliance Pigment ink Pearlescent Ice Blue and Moonlight White drying them between positioning the stencil. I then stamped it using my SU Stamparatus because I needed to stamp the image about three times and that's it, all that was left to do was put the card together.
VSN is a challenge run three or four times a year and is held over two days Friday and Saturday USA ET or Saturday and Sunday EST Australia, with often a mini VSN a few weeks' earlier just so you can get into the swing of things. You have an hour to make each card with a challenge going up every hour.
I love to try and do my challenges live but sometimes life gets in the way and so everyone just must have their cards uploaded within a week of the challenge. It is an honour system that you only take an hour to make your card and that is part of the challenge, it is amazing how it hones your creativity.
Anyone can join in the fun and this VSN is from 5th and 6th July or 6th and 7th if you're in Australia with final uploads on the 15th July. We have many of our SCS members provide inspiration for an amazing weekend.
