Today's challenge was to use a brayer to apply ink in some way - I LOVE my brayer and it's almost always on my desk for making rainbow skies - inking the inside of embossing folders, even for pressing glued layers together (make sure there's no ink on it!)
I inked my brayer with a kaleidacolor rainbow pad in Calypso (when inking roll the brayer over the pad 4-5 times -at least - letting the roller spin freely between applications - this gives a more even coverage on the roller with less likelihood of harsh "stop & start" lines) Now to apply to the cardstock . . I used white glossy today because I like the extra shine it gives . . . for the most even application roll in one continuous motion, starting OFF the cardstock on one edge and finishing OFF the card on the other side. Again this will ensures less harsh start and stop lines. follow this rolling procedure several times to increase the intensity of the sky's color saturation. To finish my sky, I watered down a dab of white acrylic paint and used an old toothbrush to spatter stars in my sky.
Now from the time I first got my Big Shot, I think I have ALWAYS cut my silhouettes in BLACK - so my real walk on the wild side today was to cut my silhouette in WHITE today - oh my I think I like this for a change!

Ha, the brayering glued layers is the most common way I use mine, though I use an old hard one, not my Speedball. Gorgeous sky, Linda. You've given some great tips there, too. Love the starry spatter.

that is so funny, I "almost" cut my poppy as a black silhouette so it could pop on the colored background and could not bring my self to do it... so, I think I enjoyed the story just as much as your card Linda, I love the seamless look you got with you colors too

What a gorgeous card this is! Your stunning brayered sky truly highlights this wonderful village/town scene perfectly. Like you, I am learning to cut die cut images in white- and they are lovely! Who knew? This is one gorgeous card! ~Karen.
