ABC11Q17: This week's letter is Q...I'm still caught up! I didn't do the double challenge. Can you see my Q on the card? It is really tiny! Didn't find it? My Q is question mark...and there are two of them after now where's the cake?!?
I didn't have a chance on Monday to try the technique challenge but worked it into today's card - though mine has candles, not floral. I want to make another one but with floral this time. My colors were based on color challenge 734 except that I don't have the grapefruit grove color so I subbed in Flirty Flamingo.
I stamped the big birthday candle at the top of the base and the bottom of the tag. I added the small candle across the bottom of the tag as well.
I thought this sentiment from Whimsical Words was perfect with all of these candles! That part of the sentiment is heat embossed. Then I added the sentiment from Tasty Trucks with the question marks.
Putting the tag on top of the card base, I thought it looked a little too plain so stamped some "stars" from Simon Says Stamps Deco Borders & Corners to add some color to the base, now I think I should have left it clean.
I sponged Daffodil Delight around the tag edges, added some pink ribbon, popped the tag up, and called it finished.
Thanks for looking!

Catherine I love everything about this and how clever to use candles instead of flowers. I like how you’ve used the colours from the challenge too..it looks awesome. Tfs. Happy day

Oh, what a fun birthday card! Certainly enough candles here for a big wish to come true.
The first time I tried this technique I added a lot of stuff to my base, but when I was making the samples for the TLC I stuck to clean. I think both work, I actually really like all those little lozenges/stars you added.
