This card is for Ina's âeoesponge itâe challenge.
I've recently acquired some life changing brushes and wanted to see if they did make a difference to my crafty life lol. It's one of our DIL's birthdays this weekend and she loves purple, coral and green. I'd seen a Gina K video using this technique and had a stamp set which she had designed for a CP Stamp of Approval box which I thought would be pretty for the card.
The images were heat embossed in gold and sponged using the brushes. My first attempt was blotchy and so my sponging is a mixture of sponge daubers and the brushes. The brushes are very smooth once you get the hang of them.
Sentiment stamped when I noticed I had some ink in places I didn't want it, so decided to die cut some butterflies in gold to cover up my blotchy ink spots and also added some bling.
Inside the card there is more gold embossing. I also used my gold wink of Stella pen to write our birthday greeting. The envelope is also stamped and embossed in gold.
Unfortunately the photo doesn't do the gold justice.
TFL. Happy day

This is oh-so pretty Jayne. I really love the gold embossed images and the wonderful sponged colors that bring the gold embossing to life. These are colors I would never put together and I really like them so thank you for the inspiration on this. The gold die cut butterflies look like they belong there so those oopies were meant to be! ~Karen.
