I am not going to tell you what time I fell into bed this morning but I began creating this after the CAS challenge went live. I even had to start all over after my cat knocked water over and ruined the first image. Sigh.
Kathy has asked us to showcase summer activities on our cards. When my husband is off I love spending the day with him doing fun 4th of July activities. You can check out my blog post for more about our favorite activities!
I used this classic mailbox image and colored it with mostly red, white and blue. On yesterday's card I linked to an absolute favorite card by Julee Tillman that she created last year in red, white and blue. It's not a patriotic card but it's absolutely stunning so that was in my head as I colored this image. (even though our cards don't look alike at all, I did check to see what shade of green she used on her leaves)
To finish off the card I simply added the die cut summer. Good thing this was such a clean and simple card since I had to start all over on it!

Angie, your persistence paid off royally! This is gorgeous and eye catching in the balance of white space! I feel for your staying up late and the cat’s ‘intervention’. Just lovely...I am thinking a gentle breeze in the summer day.

I love Summer, Too, Angie! We get "muggy" here, too, but I still love Summer : )
This is a pretty image~ it reminds me of being at my Great Grandma's house as a child. Love that large die cut "summer".

What a beautiful July 4 card! I addressed 11 cards this morning and had to go to the post office to mail a package. Now I am ready for anything. Love your card, Angie.
