This card is going to double dip....firstly for my challenge for the S2S thread...put a frame on summer, and also for Ina's S2S challenge....to put a smile on a card.
I'd found inspiration from a Youtube video by The little Crafty Pill...and as I love butterflies I wanted to frame my Smile sentiment using butterflies and flowers.
I'd chosen my summer colours but after using lots of distress oxide inks and sponging, what were supposed to be summer colours suddenly were starting to look more like autumn ones. I think somewhere in the back of my mind I'd also got the colours from another challenge....must check that as always good to knock off more challenges lol.
After stamping the sentiment and realising the colours were as summery as I was going to get them without starting again, I decided to run with them telling myself that they were end of summer going into autumn colours. Oval Panel die cut.
Butterflies stamped, coloured and fussy cut. This is where I thought why not make my frame with some cute flowers and leaves. Now this is tricky when you've popped on your panel but I'm not one to be deterred. Where it didn't quite go ok I'd simply dip an old pen into my ink and go over the bits. I also felt the flowers were a little too plain so out comes the journaling pen and I'm doodling away. Butterflies added and also wink of Stella. You can't see it, but the panel has shimmer too. Shame the photo doesn't show it.
It's at this moment that I'd smudged my sentiment and also got ink on my blue CS....hence a frame die cut, cut down, plonked in colour to match my panel and more shimmer added.
TFL. Happy day

Jayne, this is fabulous. I love how you covered so many challenges too. The colour combo is lovely, and that sentiment is perfect and so true. I love how you framed it too.
