Besides our tessaducks talent here in our community, she is also a fantastically gifted quilter! All my wonky connections and points would drive her to distraction, grin. I tried, Brenda. It's just I can't stay in the lines, on the line, or close to the line! So here is my Sketch Challenge...as straight as I can.
My card is also for the Teapotter this week, Comforting Thoughts. I'm betting the recipients won't notice the wonks and I am praying they will feel the love that was crafted into each corner.
When I thought on what to create for these challenges, I was struck with how when a loved one passes away, we have that first year of all the holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, monumental occasions we still remember and celebrate. And so I wanted to convey the passing of seasons to honor this young boy. The Memory Box dp's gave me lots of choices to mark the passing of time.
And the scripture from Psalm 91:4 talking about a safe place and refuge. I love that no matter how tragic or unfathomable the problem, there is someone bigger than us who will carry us over burdens. It is my hope this family will feel the peace in strangers who send art created from the HE{art}.
Thank you very much for your thoughts, they tenderly are like a salve in times like this.

I thought you were illustrating the seasons when I first saw this....it's so true about all the "firsts". I really like how you cut away part of that flower on the sentiment layer. What a comforting card...

I love where this very difficult challenge took you, and now us. You added just the right amount of seasoning with your choice of papers. and a very generous helping of loving support.

I love this, Susan! Yes, to what artza said above. I loved reading your thoughts about this and how to bring this card about. You put a lot of thought into this and it shows! Psalm 91 is THE BEST! What beautiful papers you have played with for this!

I love this scripture you shared and what a pretty way to use up those precious pretty little left over bits of paper and they represent the seasons so beautifully.

Susan this is fantastic I can't even see the wonky lines... a hand made card doesn't need to be perfect even if we would like so...this is very beautiful for the recipients, sure they'll find some comfort!!
