Sadly, we're sending sympathy cards today to a couple who lost their young grandson to cancer recently. I wanted my card to have a soothing but youthful feel to it. And I thought this Newton's Nook freebie had a nice feeling to it and a yellow and brown color palette would be nice. I checked out the Newton's Nook blog and found the Inky Paws Challenge is celebrating 100. I went back and found Sketch Challenge #80.
I hope this card brings some comfort to Garland and Vonita.

This does have a youthful feel to it.....perfect in this circumstance. I really like the ribbon and burlap diagonal to display your sunflower. What a lovely sympathy card.

A smoothing card and I love the burlap with the sunflower. The little ladybug is sweet.

You put so much thought into this wonderful card and it shows! This sunflower image with lady bug has a wonderful whimsical feel to it, and what young boy does not like bugs? The colors are warm and soothing and are perfect for this wonderful, heartfelt sympathy card. ~Karen.
