I've been experimenting with backgrounds since Monday's technique challenge TLC746 "Ink Blending". I bought some Brusho crystals and have been trying to learn out to use them effectively.
For this back ground I spritzed my wc paper and added brilliant red, orange and golden yellow Brusho crystals to paper, then I spritzed paper again and tipped paper to move water around and blend the colors. I also made a background paper for the butterflies using red and orange.
I let paper dry and die cut my butterflies in black and the red/orange wc paper for bottom layer of butterflies. I spritzed butterflies and background with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist gold. I love the shimmer, even though it doesn't show up on the photo. I only glued the center of the butterflies onto background and added antennae. I stamped "Birthday wishes" using my Mini Misti. I layer onto orange and black card stock then glued onto cream colored card. tfl

Gorgeous bold colors that really make those butterflies pop! I keep telling myself I DON"T need to invest in MORE new products - then I see something like this and my heart yearns . . . .
