This Teapotter challenge was to feature a favorite animal (besides pets). So, about 20 years ago we were running out of ideas for gifts to my mother. you know the feeling, after a long lifetime we all eventually have what we need, buy for ourselves what we want, and a hug and a visit is probably the best gift. Well, my mother had just purchased a huge house in an upscale community, so as a fun house warming my sister and I flocked her yard with plastic pink flamingos=the height of tackiness. After the initial surprise and loads of laughter, ensued many years of flamingo themes gifts of every ilk. Purses, salt and pepper shakers, cookie jars, more lawn ornaments, Christmas tree ornaments, slippers, aprons, towels, earrings, necklaces, socks. Do you know how many things are decorated with flamingos? Well, gift giving dilemma solved. Go for the kitsch! I hope my Teapotter Sistah enjoys this shaker card with a flock of flamingos flapping it up!

Wow, that is one beautiful shaker, Sonja. And a fun backstory too. I remember the first time I saw flamingoes in the wild, it was in Greece and we were visiting a lagoon. We'd never seen them there before, but as we drew near we could hear them - and it was a total surprise to get to where we could see the lagoon and discover what was making it. That's a fab flamingo stamp.

What a fun card (and my gosh, a shaker card too!) and a fabulous story. I used to have a running joke with a friend of mine about giving people pink flamingos for their yard as a wedding gift.
