For Judy's TLC741 today - EIONA Watercolour Powders. She is asking us to use the various suggestions in Dina's tutorial, which is linked in the challenge post. I always liked Dina's suggestion of using the colours to dye seam binding, and it's something I often do. So for this, I extended the idea to colouring my cheesecloth. I sprinkled the powders on my mat, laid the cheesecloth on top and spritzed with water. I moved the cheesecloth around a very little so it was all coloured but there was still good separation of the different colours.
The sunray background was a cast-off from the one and only Easter card I had time to make this year. I stuck the cheesecloth onto it (double-sided tape in the centre), and then added the lattice.
The flower is cut from glossy photo paper swiped with alcohol inks, and I used a scrap of Yupo coloured green with something or other for the stamens, adding Stickles. I added two leaves cut from cling-wrap background (also made with Brushos, but I don't think that was listed in Dina's tutorial), and a little butterfly. Found a suitable small sentiment and that's it...

talk about mixed media! This is fabulous. I love the cheesecloth so much, but it's those leaves that had me at first look! Wonderful spreading the sunshine, Sabrina.

Beautiful card with great colors for summer! I haven’t used cheese cloth in ages and should get it out again. Love how you can color it. What a happy card, Sabrina!

I love everything about this gorgeous sunshiny card you made. I have never thought of applying brushos to ribbon, seam binding or cheesecloth before so this is great to know. You achieved fabulous results here too. I love how the colorful cheesecloth showcases this gorgeous yellow bloom so beautifully. I also love the splash of color from your ladybug. ~Karen.
