A while ago I stamped and coloured three of these little birthday cats, stamping on watercolour paper and colouring with Polychromos pencils. Lisa is our WTUI challenge hostess this week, and her challenge (which you'll be able to find HERE was a good opportunity to use the two that were still on my desk.
I inked a number stencil from Medlock Crafts with DOX inks, and using the directions given in TLC570 I ran it through the Big Shot. I used a sheet of felt as a shim, along with the two normal cutting plates. I cut the banne r end and added the little cat. The card base was sponged with Mowed Lawn, and I used some VERY old floral embellishments, they were either K&Co or Queen & Co, and they're at least 15 years old - plastic sequins and brads.
As there was still a lot of ink left on the stencil, I spritzed it with water and used it to make a monoprint on another piece of card. I cut two squares, rotated the inner one and popped it up on foam. Added the stamped image and a die-cut leaf and flowers.

great you got 2 beauties with one stencil!! I love the idea to ink the stencil and then turn it in the BS I should have watched your card before doing mine!! Both of your cards are pretty but I prefer the left one the numbers pop more on that one because of the embossing!!

when i saw your title, i thought you made birthday cards to give to cats...silly me. although my furry nephew gives cards to my sister. how he gets to the store is beyond me. These are so sweet.

Wow, wow, wow! I love seeing techniques in action! Your second "print" is as pretty as the first, just in a different way. Thanks for sharing your pretty cards!

Both of these cards are so cute I cannot pick a favorite. I love the techniques you used to do the stencil work which is soooo impressive Sabrina. I struggle to use small stamped images like this, and you have shown me quite brilliantly how easy they can be to use. I am putting this right into my favs. ~Karen.
