For Ky's Adjust Your Junk MIXed media challenge. My understanding was that we didn't actually have to use our junk mail, just be inspired with it. I get very little as I have a sign on the mailbox saying No Junk Mail. But there are local and European elections coming up, and that sign is one that canvassers ignore. So our current junk mail is all election pamphlets - and to me, the main features are a prominent photo of the candidate and a lot of text. So that's what I went with here.
DH got me a couple of sets from Katzel for my birthday, so I broke out a rat to fit in the frame - and he certainly looks as if he is declaiming. Coloured with pencils and fussy-cut. I used black thread to recreate his back whiskers after accidentally cutting them off. Behind him is a piece of stamped tissue left from Ky's ALAD MIX challenge at the start of the year - I trimmed it to fit behind the frame and stamped the splash in Mustard Seed.
The paper is some old Basic Grey, and I tried out some new Sparkle Paste - adding a close-up when I link this in the challenge thread. I'll be buying more colours next time I'm down in Cork - it's gorgeous, and dries quite quickly too. The ribbon was lying on my desk and went with the purple on the DOX sponged frame (an offcut from another project), so I added that, sponged the edges with Wilted Violet, matted on some purple Bazzill and added it to a white base.
Oh, there are some gold stars stamped on the frame, as well as the little sentiment.
