I ran across this cool rooster but I took him out of the kitchen and put him outside where he could crow this morning!
I started with the TH Rays stencil and laid down a subtle burst of rays using yellow and golden orange chalks. Then framed the card with fern leaves twisted this way and that. The rooster was stamped in copper on scrap stock and colored with prisma pencils. I added a bit of stickles to put some shimmer in the feathers then die cut to a scalloped oval and sponged with turquoise ink. I had a weird blank spot near the bottom right and thought perhaps the SB romatic vine might add a nice filler plus work to frame my oval. I stamped the sentiment in the upper right hand corner . . .managed to bobble and blur it - so stamped again on scrap stock, die cut with a SB label and sponged with Turquoise. in order to carry the blues across the entire card front, I finished with a die cut flower in the lower left corner.
I had to giggle because when I clicked on the rooster on the website, the first thing that popped up was this notice - There are 2 available at the store nearest you in El Paso, TX. Six AM is probably a bit early to head over there - LOL

I love a colorful rooster and you've surrounded this one with beautiful ferns and more. Super card! Well, I guess you could start getting ready to go to the store later and get one of those two items that popped up. HA

This is so fun! I have this kit but haven't used it yet. I like your leafy background! Ha! There are 3 left of a wooden plaque I want to get my husband but they weren't open when I looked either!

Wonderful rooster, but I am so taken by the Nina Simone quote.......I can just hear her singing this (and I'll be singing this all day!).
