I just got some of the Ranger alcohol pearl inks and played with making some BG's. I applied the blending solution to the yupo paper, dropped on two alcohol pearl inks and then blew lightly through a straw to spread the inks a bit. Let the piece dry a bit, then applied some deco foil in gold, before the BG gets too dry. The gold foil clings to the wetter/sticky areas. The flower was stamped with versamark on vellum cardstock, embossed with clear ep mixed with some gold pearl-ex powder and cut with the die. I didn't want to cover up too much of the BG so I left off a sentiment. I wish you could see how pretty the alcohol pearl ink is IRL. It has a very subtle shimmer. Here's my inspiration.

This is so pretty and great use of the gold foil. I have used a straw to blow my inks around before, too. It does a good job.

I imagine the finish looks much like that of my Twinkling H2O's - The subtle shimmer is so awesome IRL but SO hard to capture in a photo. I really like the bits of gold floating through the bg - it truly gives this card an elegance that begs the viewer to take one more look and then another. Beautifully done.
