I decided to combine Polly's MIX challenge today to use a stencil to apply watercolor with the "Oh the Places You'll Go" VSN challenge. I chose my most Dr. Seuss-ish stencil and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers in the same colors as the cover of the book. Then I spritzed with water and laid down the watercolor paper on top. Why don't I do that more often? I really like the way it turned out! I found this Tiddly Inks digi that I hadn't ever used and it was perfect because the teacher standing on the stack of books kind of mimics the guy standing on the hill on the book cover. I chose SC132 for my sketch and cut my watercolor stencil background into a circle. Then I found this fabulous glittery DP in my stash. I had a white triangle sitting in my scrap stash and I stamped "Thank You" on it and then doodled my edges. But the white triangle was too stark against everything else. So I got this little "thank you" stamp out of the Happy Moments stamp and stamped it all over using my Spectrum Aqua markers. After I assembled, it still needed something. I decided that what it needed was some enamel dots. I had seen a DIY enamel dots post on Pinterest a few years ago and tried it. These are made by melting pony beads in the oven. Warning--only do it on a warm day with the windows open, because it stinks! Well, I'm glad I tried it because these fun bright colored enamel dots were the perfect finishing touch. This will go to Raleigh's preschool teacher. I'm pretty sure she'll love it.

Wonderful image and great coloring of it too Jennifer. Are you still sticking with your using images that you have not used? I sure don't recognize this cutie and it really turned out great in this layout too.
