Karen is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she is thinking of spring, with her combo of Lovely Lipstick, Mint Macaron and Very Vanilla. The dessert option is "roses."
Many ideas ran through my mind as I mulled over this week's challenge. Early on, I decided on the treat box, the stamped vine and its color. The rest gradually evolved as I worked. Of course, I had to use my new Tim Holtz Lattice Trim folder that cuts and embosses in one pass through the machine, and I used both designs on my treat box. I was mulling possibilities for the rose feature--die cut, rolled, hmmm. What to do? As I was working, the light bulb dawned, and I remembered I have these beautiful rose strips from years ago. I loved them when I bought them, but have never used them. What else is new?!?!
I smooshed the vanilla flowers into my Lovely Lipstick stamp pad. I was surprised the color came out so dark; maybe it's because the flowers started out vanilla rather than white. But I think they're really pretty. I die cut leaves from Mint Macaron cardstock, then sponged with the same color ink. Arranged them on the box front and added a little gold bow at the top.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

Gorgeous treat box with the roses, Barbara. Love the gold accents. Would be lovely for a shower...or if one had the stamina, for the place settings at a wedding dinner.
