It's rare that I get to play in the IC challenge, but I had to be up early this morning to take delivery of a new washing machine. And since I didn't know when, in the 3-hour time frame it would arrive, I did my errands on the way home from work yesterday. And DH is out on a motorbike run...so here it is, inspired by the Mary Poppins album in the Legacy Collection.
Since I have no small umbrellas, I substituted my cute fox from the recent The Cats Pajamas release that I used last week on another card with these dies.
Started out with a half sheet of mixed media paper, and with a baby-wipe I added various blues and a little black. I cut the back layer of the cityscape from the bottom of this sheet, and dabbed a little dark grey all over it.
The rest of the city was cut from grey card and buffed with Craft-T rub-ons. I added scraps of DP behind the windows to light them up. I used gesso to lighten the sky where the fox was going to be. Then I used the Rainbow Builder set from SU to cut the cloud die from scrap paper, and used the negative as a stencil to add the sooty smoke - a Q-tip helped round it off where needed, and add a line from the "chimney". I added SN clear glitter pen over the gessoed area, and finally I added my little fox stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with Couleur d'Art pencils. Since I badly stamped the balloons the first time, I used the third one, and drew the strings in.

The textures of your sky are so fabulous Sabrina, I love how this fox pops in the scene and ( I like this better than an umbrella I think, its always fun to see a cute critter) I love that the lights are glowing in the windows too

Amazing work, Sabrina, and so glad you got to join us this week. Love your lit up city. The sky and the smoke look great. I wonder where foxy is heading..to a birthday party, I suppose. Neat way to get there.

This is stunning, Sabrina. The textures are so eyecatching...that sky has such a dramatic look and looks like it is moving. I love the bottom area of the buildings that looks metalic. Great idea how you made tge black smoke. You are rocking this city scape die cut.
Is your sky acrylic paint? It's stunning and I often wonder how to get such a rich sky! I love this so much!! I love the vintage art that inspired this. Mary Poppins now holds a very dear place in my heart after seeing High School students (including my own) perform the musical last summer. Mary Poppins even flew!

I just went back in time to the 1970s when we still had black smoke going up from incinerators in my city...I really like the cityscape...also reminiscent for me before all the glass and metal buildings invaded.
That pop of color of the fox and the balloons is a great contrast.
