Today's sketch was a challenge for me; I don't do lots of layers. So I took it upon myself to make the sketch work for me. I made it bigger and square, I used some products to create the illusion of more layers and I used an embellishment instead of the little piece on the right. The main background is from my stash, I believe I used some Lindy's sprays.
This is also for yesterday's tea party: make a card using a recipe. I chose angel food cake. I'm not crazy about cake, too sweet for me, but when I had to choose a cake for my birthday, it was always angel food, with raspberry sherbet. No frosting. Oh and it had to be confetti angel food, with all the little colored sprinkles. I enjoyed looking at Anita's inspiration pieces and especially loved the cakes with all the dramatic colors, metallics included. I was pleased to see that Meringue Cakes in Stoddard, WI had a picture. The owner has won a couple of Food Network competitions for baking. I've had her cupcakes, just divine.
This is for JoAnn, who has some major health struggles going on. After I added the glass stars, I remembered I have to mail this. Sigh. Oh well, I'll make it work or I'll redo the card and leave off the glass. Sigh again.

Wonderful rich metallic colours. I love your angels...and that sentiment. Glass stars? They must be so pretty, but certainly not very mail-friendly. In the past I've occasionally turned sketches into one layer cards with plenty of masking, I think anything is fine so long as the sketch is still recognisable.

I love your artistic take on the SC. I struggle with the sketch challenge as well. Thanks for helping me see outside the lines with this lovely card. The glass stars must stay on, imho.
The bold blocky elements you used add to the feel and I can almost see Leonardo with a chisel...wonderful!

I am a blown away by this amazing card you made. The colors are so gorgeous and perfect for your stone and Angel theme. I adore the gold glitter paste angels and this fabulous sentiment. I will be thinking about this card for several more days now. What a fabulous card this is for the challenge and it is great inspiration too! ~Karen.

Sure is with glitz which is a good thing and love the angels and they need stars which you have---great card. I always like angel food cake with strawberries on it.

Oooh, I love that copper shimmer mousse. And those primitive, boxy angels are cute. And, I love angel food cake too. Great take on the challenge. Lovely card.
