I'm bringing a big flower to the Teapotter challenge today. After falling down the Flower based Pastry images...not only was I craving sweets, I developed a huge appreciation for those talented bakers, who pipe sweet stuff onto gorgeous pastries! They are JUST LIKE US, expect I wouldn't want to lick my fingers after creating. This card will be sent out as encouragement.
Over on the MIX323 last Friday, Jeanne S challenged us to use Great Big Flowers in a mixed media way. Well, I think this Magenta Tulip qualifies! It was stamped onto vellum mixed media paper, stamped with TH distress inks and dox inks. I fussy cut, lifting some of the petals and wrinkling for dimension. A snippet of double sided ribbon was wrapped about the stem. The fun sentiment was embossed in clear.
The Color Challenge this week is hosted by Jeanne (Penny627). She chose Groves of Delightful Berries. Vibrant and certainly fitting for a big bold Tulip. This is a great color combination, Jeanne! In fact the Berry Burst color grounds my card today.
That fab bg is a Cuttlebug EF from Anna Griffin (the textile queen of lucious prints. I used an old Basic Grey paper. Not being solid core paper, the embossing brought out the white which adds a delicate touch of interest to the bg.
I hope you get a chance to marvel at something LITTLE today! Thanks leaving your thoughts...
I've linked gotta love that TULIP and neverending JOY. I need to dust this stamp off and use it more...how about you, do you have a favorite image, you just had to have, and have you throughly massaged ink into it's rubber? I know I need to love on my older stamps more...

So beautiful Susan! Your colours are flaming brilliant! I love tulips but the squirrels love them more and nip the buds off before they open. I am slowly switching over to hyacinths and daffodils. I have one clump of hyacinths that I planted 32 years ago. They were a potted plant from the grocery store. Guess I need to find a hyacinth stamp! Love your card!
