I made this card for Virginia who is turning 83 on April 6th. Since neither of my parents lived to be 83 I thought it would be fun to help Virginia celebrate her birthday. Lilacs are one of my all-time favorite flowers and because I am craving spring so much, I can almost smell these flowers. Ha! I originally stamped the sentiment in Grape Crush, then I stamped all the flowers and leaves. When done, the sentiment was just lost so I put the card front back in the MISTI so I could stamp it again in black ink. I placed the transparency sheet from my stamp-a-ma-jig over my image panel, then stamped it in black on the transparency sheet. By doing this, I could tell if the black ink was lined up over the purple sentiment, and it was. Yay! So I removed the transparency sheet, and stamped it for real in the black ink. I have used this stamp set many times, but this is the first time I have made purple lilacs. I am not sure why that is, but the purple might be my favorite. Thanks for looking today! ~Karen.

The first time you've made purple lilacs? I'm sure it won't be the last - they are beautiful. Like you, I can almost smell them. I'm glad you were able to go back in and safely stamp the sentiment again in black.

Wow, your lilacs are spectacular!! Love them in the purples. I can hardly believe you re-stamped your sentiment. Good thinking. We used to have lilacs in our back yard, but they weren't getting enough sun to bloom anymore.
