I wanted to try a colorful background technique called "Ink, Spray & Smash" (Ink, Spray & Smash Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers) that I hadn't done in some time. Depending on how much you spray with water, and how quickly you smash the two glossy sheets together, you can get bold like this card (not as much water, and slow to smash), or something soft and surreal (lots of water and quick smash).
After I allowed my background panel to dry (about an hour), I trimmed it to size and attached it to the orange card base using Scor-Tape to prevent any possibly lift due to curl, although this panel dried nicely flat.
The vertical strip was cut from the same turquoise paper as the mat around the sentiment panel (and the same color as the re-inker drops used for the background panel). It was attached using Scor-Tape as well since glossy cardstock can sometimes be difficult to stick thinks to.
The sentiment panel was created by stamping the birthday wish onto white cardstock with the same turquoise ink, then die cutting it using the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Stitched Shapes" framelits dies. I wanted the mats for the sentiment to be tight, so die cut the turquoise cardstock using the next size up die (2" square), then used my paper trimmer to cut off 1/8" from two sides. That same larger stitched square die was used to cut the orange cardstock. All three layers were glued atop one another using Tombow glue. The stacked sentiment was then attached to the card front using adhesive foam strips to raise it above the card surface for added depth.
Finally, I made the orange bow using my bow maker tool (after 20 years, I STILL can't tie a bow freehand!!!). It was attached to the sentiment stack with a single Mini Glue Dot.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" only because of the need to die cut and stack the multiple layers behind the sentiment panel. The background technique is SUPER easy!

This is really cool, your bg came out super well. The colors and patterns are wonderful and go so well with your birthday theme.
