| | I made this card for two challenges. The first challenge that got me going with this card is the Teapot Tuesday challenge. Pat is our hostess and she chose the theme of "Old School" which is right up my alley- fun! I absolutely adore old-school stamping and really should do it more often. No MISTI was used on this card. It was all done with a stamp-a-ma-jig and scissors. The image panel was first stamped with a very old background stamp that has not seen ink in over a dozen years. I stamped it once full strength onto scrap paper, then brought it to the image panel for a softer look. Then all the leaves and blossoms were stamped over the top of the bg stamping using a stamp-a-ma-jig. For a good 20 years or so, I have adored cutting up my images for added interest and fun. The sentiment panel was stamped and punched out with an oval punch. The scalloped layer behind the sentiment panel is 2 scalloped oval punches with one piece cut horizontally and the other piece cut vertically. Then they are glued behind the white sentiment panel. This is hardly a perfect look compared to using dies, but back in the day, this is what we did. The 2nd challenge this card fits is the Alphabet Challenge for the letter B for these large blossoms. This card is going off to Kim who makes sock monkeys for young children fighting cancer. This really touched my heart a lot so I was thrilled to make this card for Kim. Thanks for looking today. ~Karen. |
