I enjoyed Sue's gallery very much because there was always something unexpected and different from the last card. I always wait for something to hit me like a sledge hammer and this is the card that bonked me: MIX304 I know Where You Are sm by smadson at Splitcoaststampers
I love what she said at the beginning of her description: 'I don't plan, I just start creating.' A woman after my own mode of operation. And it was mixed media, which is another one of my favorite things. I already had the coffee filter print, it didn't really turn out like Dina's examples but I kind of liked the spiky look. I can't remember what I used to create it, maybe Brushos? I did it before Christmas so I've forgotten (was there a challenge using this technique??). The background piece is some handmade paper that I sprayed with Distress stain and Lindy's. I kept her basic format, including a Dina tutorial/challenge, but turned the card, used a star instead of a circle, popped up that star. No sequins but used small stars. Used celestial washi at the bottom, along with a strip of silver.

Yes, love all the texture. So we are soul sisters? No planing, and love to play with mixed media. Fun! This is a great creation, and I am glad it is part of the FS gallery this week.

That's one wonderful star, Jean! I love the random colors & stars in the bg. Maybe not planning is the way to go...sometimes I get too wrapped up in it. That's why I had to quit making fancy folds. Instead of following directions, I always try to reinvent the wheel! It's kind of time consuming, lol.
