Pat has us going "Old School" this week in honour of Kim (former Teapotter crazykim). Kim makes and sells the most wonderful sock monkeys. For every monkey Kim sells, she donates a sock monkey along with a bravery certificate to the children of New Zealand in the Oncology wards.
About my card, I went very old school (for me) and used DP as the main element. This Graphic45 range was one of my all time favourites. I have been hording this cover from an 8x8 G45 DP pad for a special occasion. Acknowledging Kim and her big heart is the perfect special occasion.
I printed a digi sock monkey on copy paper and coloured her with pencils, fussy cut and adhered to the background. The Harry Potter chappie (who I have since learnt isn't Harry), was originally coloured with pencils and highlights of Copics to be used on a bookmark for Arman (teaparty several weeks ago). This image looked too small on the bookmark, so another one was coloured for Arman and I put this one in my stash.
My old school theme continued - I used a circle punch for the sentiment and added ribbons.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to get inky for Kim.

Susie, I can see why you have been hoarding this lovely dp but it is just perfect for this challenge for Kim! I love your sock monkey and Harry Potter chap in the foreground and the ribbon has been placed so well! Great card!

Great fun Susie! Not sure that sock monkey is relishing the idea of all those vintage children giving her a mauling though! Love your sentiment treatment!

Color him with black hair, a black coat and add a z to his forehead and it will be Harry! This is super fun and she will be delighted with it Susie. A million hugz to you sweet girl.

That graphic 45 paper is great and works so well for this card. I love the circle and ribbon embellishment. Fantastic idea to print out a sock monkey and throw him in the mix....by the way do sock monkeys ever smile?
