I knew the only way I'd get a card made for Polly's Tin Celings MIXed media challenge was a) to start before work and b) to use a lot of scraps.
I've done the faux tin tiles several times and love the technique, but not enough time today. Just tried the tarnished impressions recently, enjoyed it, again not enough time.
I took the speedy option by using SU's tin tile ef, on matt silver card. After trimming it down I rubbed it with some Craft-T luster rub ons, white paint around the edges and finally some Rub n Buff.
The doily was cut from vellum, smeared with white ink and heat set.
The flowers are TH Funky Florals. The little lacy head is cut from Bazzill for the stem, and watercoloured and gold-embossed tissue paper for the flowers. The blue flowers are left from the tutorial for making ornaments with alcohol inks on Yupo. The white flower is just white card, with the centre bits coloured with DOX inks. The big leafy spray is DOX inks on glossy photo paper, just a mop-up job. The little butterfly is also DOX inks on glossy photo paper. The black leaves are MariLynn's burnt paper leaves tutorial (you'll find it in the MIX forum), rubbed over with Craft-T metallic rub-ons, I already had done the burning and paint bit a few months back. Stuck it all together and now it's time to hit bed for a couple of hours. I think it's missing something, but I had great fun making it. Thanks, Polly.

Sabrina, I am so glad that you found at least a little time to play along. I love your tile background. The patina you achieve really gives it a vintage look. Great job. Blessings my friend.

I love how you use little bits and pieces of older challenges to come up with this (actually I did that today as well)..Your tin bg is amazing (SU has an actual tin tiles ef?..love it). I don't know how you get so creative before work and end up with such striking results with limited time and scraps. I love everything about this Sabrina.
