My sky was created by putting gesso through a snowflake stencil to create a resist and then using a variety of blue, pink, and mauve sprays to create a wintry sky. Unfortunately the gesso absorbed some of the colour.
I then die cut the village and taped it over the sky panel, and then used a white card base with stamped sentiment. As a final touch, I went over the windows with a gold gel pen as if all their lights were on.
My mixed media are gesso, sprays, ink, and gold gel pen.

This card is just darling and magical and fun! I thought I was done with winter and snow, but now I have all the magical feelings from when fall turns to winter after seeing your card! Fabulous job on your card!

That's one of the most effective uses of gesso as resist that I have seen. Normally I am not a fan of it, but I think this is really beautiful and it inspires me to try it again.

This is so pretty, Susan, and I love the way the sky turned out...very impressionistic! It never occurred to me to do a resist with gesso, I always use clear EP...great idea!
