Cards sometimes take on a life of their own . . .this one definitely did! What started out to be a birthday card with Unity girls ended up a card of encouragement for my son who ended up BACK at MD Anderson this week with complications from removal of 4 tumors 2 weeks ago.
I inked the stencil with DOX Salty Ocean spritzed with water and laid onto my white cardstock . . . with the stencil still in place I worked yellow chalk applied with a cotton ball through the openings. I framed this with a narrow black band and mounted onto the blue card base. I decided this needed a bit more black so cut the torn edge frame with nesting dies and glued over my rays. (At this point I had still intended to add a Unity girl but my eye caught this black leaf spray - a drop out from a SB die that has been floating on my desk for more than a year.) It fit perfectly in the frame (meant to be?) so I fixed it permanently, stamped & embossed the sentiment and scattered a multitude of tiny, shiny stars.

Sorry about your son, I hope it's just a slight hiccup. The combination of chalking with the monoprint looks really good, and I love the concept of adding stars into the sun-rays.

Linda, a soft and beautiful card. Lovely bg and super great sentiment we all could stand to think about and apply it to our lives.
Oh my, I had no idea you were facing something like this right now. Many hugz to you sweet girl. Definitely sending up healing prayers for you both. This all makes your card even more special.
