This card is for the Teapot Tuesday Challenge and will be sent to Linda (aka Hotwheels) as a donation to her local church/community.
As this is my first Teapot Party that I've joined in I brought along my best cup, trimmed with pearls. It also sometimes comes in handy for popping in flowers when there's no vases around. If my dear mum (bless her soul) were here she would say..."it looks dead posh our Jayne" or now that I'm an Aussie ....my mates down under might say "what a bonza". Either way I'm hoping it will make the cut and get me into this party....I like fun, I like tea (if it's green) and if there's coffee and cake...I'm there.
Well this little beautie is not my usual style but I thought that the recipients might like something pretty. I also know that my mum liked green and pink. What girl doesn't.
Green/pink floral paper cut and even though I measured it twice, how is it that when you actually paste it onto the cardstock, it suddenly has shrunk. Yep, this one had, so out comes the sponges and my Melon Mambo ink. It suddenly looked messy but I'm not one to give up and especially when it's for a party.
I see that there's a co-ordinating border in my paper pack so out come the scissors and away I go. Phew, that was a close shave. I might never have got into this party.
The middle panel started as a trial....out came my sponges and TH inks and I'm on a roll. I'm also trying not to get too carried away like I always do and keep it soft and pretty. There's about 4 colours on that panel, including shimmer sprays but you wouldn't know it. In the end out comes my Perfect Pearls and I'm brushing it on. It's sort of streaky but in a shimmery way.
The final panel...phew. I wanted vanilla cardstock and this one is thick and what I usually use for scrapping. It took about 10 attempts to ink my cup and flowers up. Thank goodness for my Misti...she always comes to the rescue.
Flowers watercolored and heart and sentiment stamped. It's at this stage I see that even though I've masked my flowers the stems have come outside my cup. Gosh whatever will the Teapotter ladies think...it just won't do. I was about to doodle but we know how that can go and this cup needs to be pretty. Of course....what else do most girls like....why Pearls. Popped on and now I'm happy.
Inside and envelope stamped....gosh I'm thinking by this stage that if I have to go through this every time I want to party I will be a nervous wreck. I'm also wondering how these Teapotter ladies make such beautiful creations that never get ink smudges on or are wobbly or warped. Maybe I need to stick with this party and learn some new tricks.
TFL and reading...I had fun and maybe I will join in another party one week.
Happy day everyone

Jayne welcome to the Teapotters! You've created a lovely cup of flowers for your first teaparty. I love your feminine touches of a lacy border and those fabulous pearls. And if you think we don't goof up or get ink smudges on our cards you haven't been looking too closely....we might have clever ways to cover up some of these mistakes ;)

What pretty flowers and a fabulous pearly cup. What a great way to cover an oops. I noticed just last week or the week before that I had some stems showing in the wrong place. Love the background layer. Thanks for coming to the party this week.

Jayne welcome to the Teapotters!! I didn't want your fun story to end. I had a chuckle thinking how your mum would have said, "dead posh our Jayne" (I love anything British on telly). You are right my Aussie mate, this is bonza! I love how you overcame the oops a daisys. Half of my cards have smudges - nothing that a dotty tree cant fix. Linda is sure to appreciate this and the goodies you are sending.

Thanks so much for coming to the party, Jayne! We sure are happy to have you and your beautiful teacup all decked out in pearls. I just love every layer on this beauty and I admire your restraint in keeping the colors soft and not doodling--I know how hard it can be to resist! Just gorgeous in every way!
