This is for the Crafters of Faith Monthly Challenge hosted by Kelly. The February guest hostess is Tracie; she selected the theme of love from I Corinthians 13 and lovingly dedicated it to her mom. I started out with the idea of using an elegant style with the I Cor 13 love verse, but I didnât need any wedding or anniversary cards. Then, I saw the new reversible ribbon on my desk and decided to try this color combo with one of my favorite scripture stamps about love. I tried a collage look, which I am not accustomed to doing. However, I know the only way to get comfortable with a style or technique is to practice it. Now I see things I wish I could change, but itâs all part of the learning process and stepping out of the comfort zone, so to speak.
The embossing folder is a favorite from Paper Studios. After I embossed the Granny Apple Green and turned it over to add glue, I liked the debossed pattern, so I used that side. I was inspired by a card Dawn/Dawnmercedes had sent to me on which she used washi tape & cancelled postage stamps. Ever since I have been diligently collecting stamps from envelopes I have received. The Love postage stamp fit the theme and the colors. I used a strip of washi tape, too. Scattered some light green & light blue mini rhinestones. I like these mini ones as they are just enough to catch the light to add some a sparkle, but donât make the card more difficult to mail.
I learned more about the collage style while creating my card; most of all, I enjoyed the theme of love. Thanks Tracie and Dawn for inspiring my card. TFL

Diane, your card with all of its elements is just beautiful. The two-color ribbon and your stamp really add to the collage look. Well done!

Brilliant card, Diane! I like how your collage turned out - it's not something I've attempted to do! I especially like that you used the debossed side of your green panel and mimicked the stamp border with your 'faith hope love' square.

Well gee, Diane, now I'm going to have to start collecting cancelled postage stamps. I'm off to dig through my recycling now. I just got a card today from Snietje and I have the urge to use her French postage stamp on a card now. LOL! This is such fun and I just love the color combo! I think I have that same ribbon, but in pink and orange.
