This is for sweet Stamperrobin's "Free for All" challenge - I MIGHT USE THAT ONE DAY.
I have been hoarding this polka dot paper for years. All I had left was a 5"square with a thumping big circle cut out of it and one scrap 6"x 2".
The image is one of my favourite Sassy Cheryl digi images printed onto copy paper. It was in a crumpled state at the bottom of my drawer along with other cherished images.
If you are adverse to ironing...look away now. If you are still with me, next time you have the iron out, run a warm iron over any crumpled images that are stamped or printed onto copy paper. Cover them with a hankie first.
After I coloured the image with Prismacolour pencils, Zest it pencil blend and a few Copic highlights, I gently wiped a walnut stain foam blending tool over the image to take away the just coloured look. I have written in the past that I close my eyes to do this - I really am serious, it's best not to look otherwise you will hesitate and the foam blender digs in to the paper.
I cut the copy paper to app 3.75" square, then laid a tiled stencil over the top and swiped over it with foam blending tool. I just used the residue ink on the foam, but varying the amount of pressure I applied so it looked uneven.
I do this because I don't want to draw attention to the fact that there is no stenciling under the shower head and in the centre of the image. By darkening some areas, and leaving other areas light, it all blends in and looks balanced. This saves a lot of work using masks.
The bubbles were made with Stickles. Because this is only copy paper, I allowed each blob of Stickles to dry before building it up with more Stickles.
The final scrap of polka dot paper was used on the envelope. This is for our sweet great-niece. I will be away for a few days so I will catch up commenting on Sunday. Thanks very much for looking and I hope you get a chance to get inky and join in.

What a great idea for the stenciled bg, Susie. You would never know that you did not spend hours masking. That red polka dot paper is so bright and happy and looks great with your adorable image.

love you let go of that fun red polka dot paper...it definitely needed to be out in the world. Love the stenciled bg, so randomly applied. And the Stickles bubbles...the plant waterer so cute in her polka dot swimsuit too. Love how you share your process with us so we can learn. Delightful, mf.
Enjoy your days away!

That is a wonderfully fun image,I love the idea of her watering flowers in the bath. We used to have one if those old cast-iron tubs when I was growing up and I still remember how cold it felt when you first lay down in it. I'm glad you were able to rescue this with a little ironing. That is fine. I was shocked last week to see that DH had washed a paper napkin and was carefully drying it so that he use it for more napkin-folding.

That image is adorable! And I love how you colored her...the red polka dot paper just takes this to the highest level of cuteness! That A on the envelope is the icing on the cake. Your niece is a lucky duck to be getting this card (and to have such a creative aunt like you).

Oh Miss Susie, I love this fun image and the tile BG you added to her. You should add the WTUI to the keyword for this fun card we added dots to our cards this week. I love that you ironed out the paper for this fun card, I have had to do that too with not paying attention to how I have stored papers and then going to use them find that some are a bit wrinkled. This card is just super cute sweet Miss Susie.
