I like your sentiment on vellum letting the paper show through.
When we were blessed to be able to visit Monet's garden in October, we had the most beautiful views of dense low-lying mist as we flew in...and the bonus of a glorious sunshine day with all the mist burnt off by the sun by the time we arrived at the gardens.
