Hello, My Favorite Pair

Hello, sweet friends! Well, it's been a very long time since I've posted (or even commented). I've missed you all. On December 12, my DH had knee replacement surgery, and he is now walking around (and learning to walk better) and has one more week of in-home PT and then out-patient PT after that. It's been a long road, and I am exhausted. But God has been so gracious to us both in all His provisions.

Marcella Hawley has a new Instant Garden digital release, and I was delighted to find a couple of hours late last week to color. I hadn't picked up my Copic markers in over six weeks, so I was a bit out of practice. But isn't this the sweetest image with all the wonderful details? She is amazing!

I tried to use the color wheel to pick my colors, and it helped some. This might be a complementary or split complementary color combination, but I need more practice using the color wheel. I finished coloring, masked off the sentiment from Potted Primroses for the tag, and had already decided to use Rich Razzleberry. It didn't seem cohesive enough, so I decided to try out my new Life Changing Blended Brushes and used Scattered Straw to balance out the color of the pears (and give it a bit more warmth). I am still getting used to the brushes, but they sponge so smoothly. I matted the Rich Razzleberry on the sides only and adhered it to a white card base keeping it super simple. This card is for my dear friend BeckyTE who stayed with me all day and night when DH had his knee surgery. What a precious friend! I'm so very thankful for my wonderful friends here on SCS and miss you ALL so much!

Sweet friends, thanks for your prayers and thoughts for my DH and for me. They have meant so much to me. Hugs and love to you all! xoxo

Gorgeously coloured Cheryl, it certainly doesn’t look like you’re out of practise! What a lovely image too, I’m seeing wedding and engagement cards with this one. Good to hear DH is still making progress - we miss you too!

Great to see you back and with such a lovely card. Your pears remind me of the williams pears we used to get off the tree at home. Mum had to have it taken down eventually but often took them to school as part of my lunch. Your flowers in blue are so pretty to. Praying for continued healing and good rest.

Oh, Cheryl, it is great to see back in the gallery! I pray you and Walt are doing much better! You came back with an outstanding piece of artwork. The image is great and your coloring of it is remarkable! The coloring on the pears is striking, the foliage looks so real, and the blue flowers and lovely ribbon are fabulous in color. I would never guess you had not used your copics for a while as your coloring with them is outstanding, my friend! I continue to pray for you and Walt. Love and hugs, my friend!

So, so glad to see you back on SCS and in the gallery, Cheryl, you have been greatly missed! It's wonderful that Walt is progressing so well, no doubt due in large part to your devoted nursing! Your card is exquisite, the colors just pop and your coloring doesn't look like you've missed a beat with your Copics. Warm hugs to you my friend!

Missed your creations, but happy to hear your husband is on the mends. That pt is tough. Another beautiful drawing from Marcella, and you colored it to perfection. Hugs my friend.

Oh my goodness sweet sis this is so incredibly beautiful. I truly did laugh out loud when you suggested you need practice with your Copics. Your colouring never ceases to blow me away ....all the way to the moon and back and once around Pluto. Love this and YOU to bits.

How wonderful to see you making a card, Cheryl. I love Rich Razzleberry and I think it made this card pop. I don't think you have lost your touch with Copics one bit. This is a beautiful image.

It sounds as if hubby is making good progress even if it is taking a while and I know you are both exhausted. Take care....hugs and prayers for you both.
