This is my card for Jeanette's VSN challenge. When we were children, our family always went to our grandma's farm and hiked out to the woods to find a Christmas tree. Usually they weren't so perfect, but my dad would trim off some of the lower branches, drill holes, and put those branches into the holes to fill in some of the bare spots.
I painted some gesso on the tree for snow.

The gesso was a great touch to imitate snow.

Melody, your card is so pretty - what a clever idea to use gesso for a snowy look on your tree! I'm guessing you must get your creativity from your dad because it was amazing that he thought to "add branches" to the tree that you and your family chose each year. WOW!
Thanks for participating in my 'Twas the Night Before Christmas VSN challenge!

What a gorgeous tree die cut and I love the addition of the gesso. Hmmm, sounds like what happened the one year my dad and I went out to the woods to find a tree. It definitely wasn't perfect and he and my mom fixed it the same way your dad did! Lovely card.
