Not the typical Christmas card, but one for very special friends who have a museum-quality collection of antique icons. When I saw this stamp, I thought of them immediately. (What looks yellow in the photo is metallic gold.....icons are heavy in gold)

I have quite a few old cards from my grandfather that have icons. They are so exquisite, like your image. Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, so many icons. yes, lots of gold. your card is very special.

That must be wonderful in real life! I've seen icons in museums and the gold on them is amazing, so I think you've done a great job capturing the real look of them with the gold and the rich red and blue.
