Anita aka Snietje is hosting this weeks teaparty along with Judy/Gracie aka JRHolbrook. Our cards are going to a young man named Nick who is recovering from a terrible fungal lung infection.
Snietje has challenged us to make a card inspired by a phone App - what a great challenge idea. DH and I used the Wikicamps app while we were in the outback - brilliant!!
We also had Apps for crocodile alerts and bush/wild fires. We were evacuated once due to fires...thankfully there were no croc alerts on our latest trip.
Thanks to Wikicamps we found camping spots just like this card (minus the horse). I used HP glossy photo paper for the sky and setting sun, die-cut and used the inlay technique.
The sun was done with a combination of Brusho's and Distress reinkers, whilst the sky was done with "Inkfusions" by PaperArtsy. Basically it's the same as Brusho powder but maybe not quite as good... don't know, the jury is still out on this one.
The silhouette die is one of my newest purchases from an Aussie company called Paper Roses (paperrose.com.au), they have some fabulous farm/ranch silhouette dies.
Thanks very much for looking, I hope where ever you are you are keeping cool or warm. It is 33C/91F here today.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I added a little bit of silver ink around parts of the silhouette.

Fab scene...and the silver moonlight on the edges of the silhouette I'd brilliant. I'm glad we don't need crocodile alerts anywhere we camp, though we have seen a system for warning how likely forest fires are down in southern France. Wikicamps sounds useful...but you mean they didn't lay on a horse for you!! I remember when we had a boat on the river Shannon and there were donkeys in the field across from where we were moored for the night...we rowed over and fed them carrots.
I'm still amazed that tons of water doesn't just give you mush... although come to think about it, Dina's coffee filter tutorial used Brushos and glossy photo paper specifically, and turned out fine apart from the long drying time.

Following Sabrina's comments, I thought I should add this. After about 1 minute, I use a baby wipe and wipe off the excess water. The inks, be it Brusho or re-inkers, have gripped the glossy photo paper by this stage, all I am really wiping off is excess water. having said that from what I have read glossy photo paper varies greatly with different brands.
