For the first time ever I decided to make a card for 3 current & recent challenges. It wasnât until I saw the color challenge today that I realized I needed to start my card based on that color combo and take my design idea from a decor item I flagged from (Joss & Main)the inspiration challenge and then add in an element from this weekâs clean & Simple challenge (wood).
The current color challenge is CC716 (12/4/1 The Melon & Pear were Blushing. That translates to SU Melon Mambo, SU Pear Pizzazz & SU Blushing Bride. The dessert option was to add foliage, of choice.
The Inspiration Challenge was IC678 (12/1/1 Joss & Main. This site had so many fun holiday decor items it was hard to pick a favorite, but I settled on this sweet ceramic pink pig wearing a Santa hat as my inspiration piece. Here it is: https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillow...-hday3986.html
And lastly, the Clean & Simple Challenge this week, CAS510 Would You Could You Wood (12/3/1, was to use wood as a main element in the card.
I ended up having to fudge a bit on the colors, because I didnât have SU Blends in Mambo or Blushing Bride. I had to use Pink Pirouette & Lovely Lipstick which looks horrible in the photo, but is actually quite fun IRL.
Fashioning the Santa hat for the piggy took a good amount of time because plain ole die cuts looked boring & flat. The tiny white Pom poms was the perfect size for the tassel end, but the hat brim had me stumped. In desperation I clipped some white fuzz off a larger Pom Pom, mooshed in a pile and glued the clump to the tiny die cut hat brim. Voila! Piggy had a Santa hat just like the inspiration piece!
To add a bit of dimension between the wood frame front and the image panel I added 3 layers of cardstock that had a slightly larger oval opening than the front panel. I like the look of this better than foam tape because it doesnât stand out as much and you donât see glimpses of the foam if you look at it from the side.
I finished the card by adding the sentiment label and tucking the sponged pine die cuts under/around it. It looked like piggy needed to be looking at something, so I added a couple of pompom snowballs, just for fun.
Thanks for taking time out to peek at my pink piggy card. Festive Wishes to you!

This is so fun based on your inspiration pillow....This all came together rather charmingly I would say! Love your washi label. Now I want that punch, lol. This is interesting that you did the layered panel this way. Always learning something.
