Please meet Miss Ida May Chapman. She has lived in Whykickamoocow her whole life and is a distant relative of the mother of former Prime Minister Paul Keating, Minnie Chapman. Miss Ida May fancies herself a prize winning baker (see those cookies?) and flower arranger and has won the Whykickamoocow Festival's flower show Grand Prize for the past 25 years. But as you can see, she is color blind and has issues with patterns. And most people don't have the guts to tell her how awful her bakery is. However she is well known for her arrangements of Golden Wattle and red and green Kangaroo Paw. She is very excited because, for the first time in history, the festival will be broadcast on television all over Australia; she is filming a commercial for the festival. You can see by her demeanor that Miss Ida May is very confident that she will win her 26th Grand Prize. She is a bit concerned about that Gertie though.

Ida May sure is something else...I can see she has some problems with patterns but by the look of those cookies perhaps we can overlook that. Very clever....

Jean, Miss Ida May is a classic! Love your story - I note a bit of research has gone into it - and after 25 years of winning the competition who would be game to tell her her baking isn’t that great and her styling’s not the best, ha! Great card!

Jean, you outdid yourself with this one. Don't know which I liked best, the story or the card. WOW, talk about creativity. This is fabulous! Love that the packages match her dress. My gosh, I'm still smiling. Love the TV too! This is just great!

Oh my gosh Jean I didn't want your story to end....but then I wouldn't have got to see your fabulous creation. Story first...Paul Keeting, golden wattle and kangaroo paw red...I am laughing so much it's hard to type. Your paper pieced Ida May Chapman is a looker and the go is brilliant. Jean thanks so much for bringing all is laughter (and real cookies) to Whykickamoocow. I love it!!!

You certainly did your research for this! And some fabulous paper-piecing to create a great retro ( or maybe just rural outback) scene for us.
(Will pm you later, got distracted by a chance to stamp yesterday ;-)).

Well, her cookies certainly look like they'd be tasty. Great story, and if she's won 25 years in a row, I'm sure she thinks 26 is a given, no matter her taste in patterns and colors.

Very nice! I like your girl, dressed in the same patterns as the things on her TV.
