I rarely keep offcuts but I've had so many pretty ones recently from gel prints that I've been keeping them. Assembling them into a Herringbone background was an easy job for a tired brain the other night, especially when I used a label sheet to stick them to. They're mostly gel prints, but there are a couple of trimmings from my recent peacock card too. In real life it has a lovely look, almost like fabric. So as not to cover too much up I simply added a small sentiment, with a little feather stamped beside it.

Oh my gosh, Sabrina, I LOVE this. To think I've been disgarding my cut offs, never again. This reminds me of favorite quilt patterns too. Love the deep rich colors. This also looks labor intense but So worth the effort.
Sabrina, this is gorgeous! I am in awe! I don't believe I could put strips together and make such a gorgeous background. I just don't "see" like that. This is absolutely stunning! The sentiment is beautiful. I memorized that when I was a teen but didn't keep it up! I can no longer recall it but I love reading it!

Your herringbone background is lovely...and so clever to keep your slivers of cutoffs...glad you did. Perfect layout...all you needed was your little sentiment focal point and the card was perfect!
