I chose the Christmas section and found this beautiful card for my inspiration.
I loved the red front door with the little wreath and the creamy yellow around it, so used that colour palette.
I love making these little wreaths and the cards always sell well at my fundraiser. I use the good old Martha Stewart pine branch punch and punch many branches out of various dp that have grass on them (made for scrapbooking themes on various sports) - there is really nice colour variation in them that makes the wreath more pleasing to my eye than just plain green.
I die cut a thin circle using two Spellbinders circle dies, then start gluing the branches (which I'd cut in half) down, overlapping each one, pointing some to the inside and some to the outside.
I used the Sizzix brick embossing folder and the Memory Box door die. I added gold gemstones on the wreath and made a feeble attempt at creating front steps (now wish I'd left it off and just placed the door at the bottom of the card).

Your handmade wreath is beautiful, Susan, and I love that red door against the brick wall. I think your steps look good.

I love a red door and it's especially festive against the white brick. The lacy evergreen wreath is perfect - that MS punch is such a handy little tool!

I like your front steps - it adds another nice layer to your card. Love that red door with your wreath. The cream is just perfect for your walls. Thx for sharing the trick to your wreath with the lovely variation.
