Lately my cards have been started with unfinished projects or pieces that I created when trying various techniques. This card started with an alcohol marker marbled panel that demanded to be used as a sky background. I used a technique that Nancy Littrell shared on her blog, scandinancy creates, and was created by Loll Thompson, called Powdered Inks with Versamark. I inked the trees with versamark then used a damp brush to pick up Brusho crystals (Ultramarine and Emerald Green) and apply to the inked trees then lightly spritz with water. The tree panel was mounted to a ballet blue layer and glued onto a map stamped white base. The airplane was stamped in gray. The sentiment was masked to split stamp and inked in black, edged with Faded Jeans and popped up with foam tape.

Lovely bg - love those trees and the sky -- your airplane picked a beautiful day for a flight!

Beautiful use of the sketch. I know what you mean about starting with unfinished pieces, that is exactly what I did for my card. It is a fun challenge to work with things in our stash! Love your sky panel. It does like it has to be a sky. Awesome trees. Thanks for describing the technique. Looks amazing. The airplane in the circle works great. Terrific card! TFS

Thank you for describing how you did those trees - they are stunning! And you are right that your background imply had to be used for sky! It almost looks like a photograph of sky!
I love the masculine slant of this card and every element of it's creation!
